PostSubject: Pride and Understanding   Tue Dec 16, 2008 1:23 am

Antonis and the others had left early the next morning after Johnson attacked Viggo. The Faholgan had prepared everything beforehand, so it didn't take long for everyone to quickly leave the town. Everyone was glad to have finally left that forsaken place.

Tamil had remained behind, much to the complaint of Debalora and disapproval of Viggo and Antonis. He assured them it was for precautions in case someone were to follow or an unsuspecting individual were to fall upon the town. Tamil was also worried if Brandon may have escaped his captors, as little chance that there was, and would return to the town. He would catch up with the others by morning.

He wouldn't admit it, But Tamil honestly wanted to be alone. The weight of the devastated town, the betrayal of that Faholgan soldier, and the countless acts of the ministry were burdening on his heart.

Tamil is a prideful man. Obviously arrogant at times, but he holds enough pride in himself to be unwilling to show his emotion to others. He wanted to be viewed as stong, independant, and unchallenged by the constant troubles against all of them, he couldn't allow himself to break down infront of the others. He needed his time alone to think things through.

Remaining in the town gave him that time. He wouldn't break down in tears, but he thought hard upon their recent trials.

The devastated town remained cold and empty as the day began to fade from the bright mid-day hours and into the afternoon. Tamil had against a wall of one of the burnt buildings and close by his horse. He sat leizurely for most of the day, keeping a thoughtful, but serious gaze forward down the long road through the town. No one came to the town. He wondered if the residents were the only ones who actually knew it existed, not even traders or hunters seemed to pass this way.

Or maybe the ministry's army has devastated the surrounding areas as well. Anyone in its path would either be killed or enslaved, just like the people here. Is this the fate of all who stands in the path of the ministry? If you do not serve them, you will die by its corruption and cruelty.

Tamil lowered his head slightly to allow his right hand to raise his hood back over his head. The hood now shadowed half his face from the world, his black fur helping to mask his features.

Tamil had dedicated his entire life to the Eye of Michael. He served them faithfully, believing everything he was forced to believe, ever since he was taken from his village as a young boy. He couldn't believe in anything else because he never truly knew anything other than life within the ministry.

Until recently, he remained loyal to the ideals. He believed in the people at first. But after witnessing, first hand on many occassions, of the corruption within the ministry, he only remained dedicated to what he thought the Eye of Michael stood for. Purifying the world and destroying the corrupt.

But the ideals were eventually disregarded or taken advantage of. No one truly fought for the idea. Soldiers fought for their leaders, and the leaders only fought to claim more for their own. Especially when it came to dominance over the weak or gaining more for their coin sacks.

General Antonis seemed to be one of the only leaders who remained honorable and would succumb to the greedy motives of the mistress. He's the only reason why Tamil left in the first place. Tamil first followed Antonis' rebellion in hopes of bringing back the ministry that had been proud and right. But now, being away from the ministry for so long, Tamil has truly realized that the evils of the ministry have always been there.

The ministry has always been wrong. The belief and ideals were something to be fought for, but the ministry does not fight for them. Its a corrupt system that needs to be purified. And this town was a harsh reminder of it.

The sun hung low in the sky before Tamil stood and walked to his horse. A look of discontent was on his face as he replaced the his belongings into the saddle bags. After adjusting and making sure all of his daggers were secured on his person, he looked back toward the building he had sat against for anything that may belong to him. Seeing a small sack was left where he was sitting, Tamil casually walked back toward the building to retrieve it.

As Tamil bent down to pick up the small sack, a strange, familiar scent reached his nostrils. A serious brow lowered as he slowly raised himself to straighten his back, his gaze quickly scanning the area for the source of the scent. Before long, a muffled grumbling could be heard just around the building. Whoever it was, Tamil could tell they were angry and possibly aggressive.

A snarl appeared as he cautiously turned to look around the house and down the road. Tamil's form tensed up after seeing the individual only a few yards away from the building he peered around.

The individual was unrecognizable at first. They were shorter than an average male with a smaller frame. A long, black coat was worn, the end of the coat reaching to the person's lower calves. The coat also had a large hood, which was worn over the person's head and hid any features that would identify who they were.

Tamil could only sense a familiarity until the person in front of them realized he had seen them and raised their head slighlty. Thier eyes soon gave a faint red glow from under the heavy hood, revealing angered features of the female Tamil quickly recognized.

"You.." Tamil said quietly in slight surprise.

The female snarled and stopped her pace before raising her hand and pointed toward Tamil. "You were apart of this devastation!" she accused. "You and your calamitous general... I knew he would destroy their lives, I didn't think he would go as far as to destroy an entire town of innocent people!"

Tamil quickly looked back to his horse and frowned. Maybe he could get to his horse and ride off fast enough to avoid fighting... He's fought Debbreh before. His neck ached as he recalled their last encounter. He may have had a few lucky hits against her, but she stabbed him repeatedly AND bit into his neck! ...It would be a mad dash if she were to chase after him, he would have to act quickly if he was to get to his horse and ride off.

"Of all the helpless towns you people had to destroy... You had to make a calamity out of mine and my sisters childhood place!" Debbreh continued and balled the pointing finger into a fist. "Antonis said he was the leader of the rebellion... well, it very well looks like he's still apart of the ministry he said he's fighting against! You're both liars and I'll kill you both!"

Tamil's shoulders tensed as he glared toward his horse. He could get away, but... Tamil never runs away from a fight. A snarl appeared as he turned back to face Debbreh. He only failed during their last fight because he was already injured. Antonis' captors made sure of that... and the fight began because this.. demon... allowed them to take Antonis. Tamil couldn't be any more healthier. "...Antonis didn't do all of this, nor did I... We found the town like this, we had nothing to do with it.."

"Liar!" Debbreh shouted and stepped forward, her fists tightening. "You Bastard Liar!! I know what happened here, yours and Antonis' scents are all over the place! And now you're going to die because of what you've done!"

Tamil growled lowly. "The same could be said for you, ..Demon."

Debbreh's snarl quickly grew before growling loudly and running forward toward Tamil.

Tamil's entire form stiffened, but quickly shifted his feet apart and raised his fists to stand defensively. If they're going to fight, he has to outsmart Debbreh. From what he remembered, she was extremely aggressive when she fought and hit fast. There were also ejectable blades underneath her sleeves, he knew he had to disable them if he was going to have any advantage in this fight. There was also the fact that she...

Debbreh ran as fast as she could toward the panther only quickly slowed down right as she approached him. Her right clenched fist shot toward Tamil's face. When he quickly avoided by pulling his head back, Debbreh immediately spun around and jumped, swinging her right leg up to round house kick toward Tamil's chest.

Before Debbreh could kick him back, Tamil quickly stepped back; barely avoiding the kick. A quick growl was given before he lifted his right leg and swunt his boot toward Debbreh's raising head.

Debbreh lowered just in time to avoid Tamil's boot and just as Tamil's leg swung out of the way, Debbreh instantly shot her left fist forward toward the panther's face; jerking her wrist as she moved.

Tamil's eyes quickly widened and twisted his form just in time to see Debbreh's wristblade eject out of her sleeve and stab at the air right in front of his face. Using this as some time, Tamil grabbed one his daggers and raised it in time to clang against the wrist blade before it could slice into his neck.

The panther groaned through grit teeth as he used his dagger against Debbreh's wristblade to push it away from himself. His groans quickly turned to growls as he turned his gaze from the blades to female who fought him. He knew she was strong, but if he kept challenging her strength against his he knew he would lose. Tamil's free hand quickly punched into Debbreh's abdomen. Feeling the pressure against his blade quickly ease with Debbreh's pained grunt, Tamil forced Debbreh's arm away and tightened his fist around the handle of his dagger before suddenly punching his knuckles into Debbreh's face.

Debbreh's head knocked back and stumbled backwards. Heavy breaths were taken with a lowered head before looking back up to Tamil with a vicious snarl. "No one's ever punched me in the face before..." she said lowly while retracting the blade back into her sleeve.

Tamil stood defensively with a sneer, dagger still in hand. "It wont be the last."

Debbreh growled and adjusted her footing. "Quite the man to punch a woman in the face..." she stated sarcastically. After hearing Tamil's growl, she continued. "I bet you did far worse to the women here as you burned down thier homes!"

"I already told you!" Tamil retaliated. "We found the town like this when we came here! We did nothing to these people, we would have helped them if we were here when it happened." He raised the edge of his dagger slightly before continuing. "Maybe YOU were the one who did this. You could have been helping the Ministry's army as they destroyed everything in their path! You helped them before..." he lowered his tone to a growl. "By allowing them to take Antonis."

Debbreh suddenly shouted out in rage and charged toward Tamil. But instead of attacking like before, she pounced forward and knocked Tamil's back to the ground. After fighting with Tamil's struggles and managing to get rid of the dagger in his hand, Debbreh hooked each fist against each side of Tamil's face; continually fighting against Tamil struggling. "Antonis ruined everything! After came, he brought nothing but pain to my family!" Debbreh shouted as she fought with Tamil.

Tamil, even after recieving hard fists to his face and head, groaned loudly and used his back and leg to against Debbreh until he rolled on top of her, landing each knee on the ground at her hips. As he struggled with her efforts, Tamil did the same as she did to him and fought against her; successfully slamming each fist to the sides of her head and face. "Antonis has only done what he feels is right." he said through his panting and struggles with Debbreh. "YOUR family was hurt because of YOUR own actions!"

Debbreh shouted aggressively before managing to free her hand and suddenly scratching her claws against the left side of Tamil's face. As Tamil gave a sharp yelp in pain, Debbreh pushed both hands forward against Tamil's chest. The impact sent him off of Debbreh and landed hard on his back on the ground before Debbreh.

"Grrraahhh..." she groaned as she stood herself up. "Antonis took away my sister, he turned Brandon away from me..." Debbreh said as she quickly approached Tamil and tightened her hands into Tamil's robe at his chest; pulling his face closer to hers with a sneer. "And he made everyone turn against me... and made me feel even lesser of a person than I already was." She said with a growl before lifting Tamil from the ground.

Tamil's snarl slowly faded as Debbreh spoke down to him. And now there's a reason behind her actions against Antonis. She feels he took everything away from her. And that loss drove her to betray him.

Debbreh continued to snarl down to Tamil before she shouted again. "And you're just like him!" As she shouted this, the cat forcefully swung Tamil around herself and threw him into the burnt building beside herself.

Tamil shouted just before his back broke through the thin wall of the building and slammed into the next wall within it. After the hard impact, the panther fell forward and landed on his chest. Dust and broken wood fell everywhere and on top of him from the wall behind himself. Tamil's features scrunched up as he groaned painfully; slowly trying to push his hands against the floor.

Even though his back was slammed into two walls and his entire body ached from the impact, Tamil couldn't help but be amazed at the sheer strength Debbreh had. It was unimaginable for someone her size to throw someone of Tamil's size through a building! NO ONE has thrown him before, he's always been taller or larger than his opponant!

As facinated as Tamil was and unusually sorrowful for her after hearing her, he knew what she was capable of and what she has done. She wasn't going to stop herself from killing him now and he knew he had to stop her because of her acts against Antonis, the others, and himself. Hearing the wood floor creak in front of him, Tamil sneered and quickly pushed himself off the ground and pounced forward.

This caught Debbreh off guard and the both of them landed outside of the building and onto the ground. A loud groan was emitted as her back hit the ground harshly before she looked up to Tamil, who was on top of her again.

Tamil's hood had fallen behind as he pounced forward. His hair was as black as his fur, but grew longer appeared smoother. Long bangs messily hung over his face as the rest of his hair managed to remain behind his shoulders.

Debbreh, through different circumstances, would have found Tamil at least somewhat attractive just now. But this was a man who was trying to kill her as much as she was trying to kill him. He also served the man who ruined everything for her and that makes him just as bad as Antonis. "Get off of me, you bastard! I'm going to kill you!"

Tamil quickly wrapped his hand around the female's neck before she struggled too much and leaned his face closer to hers with a scowl. "You already had your chance to kill me, Wench. You couldn't kill me, if you wanted to." he paused as he heard and felt her growl under his grasp. "And your wrong about Antonis. You judge him because of the choices YOUR family made..."

"He only brought more trouble and grief..."

Tamil quickly interrupted by continuing. "They chose to turn away from you because of your choices! Antonis didn't know what was going to happen after he came to that mansion, there's no way he could. But YOU knew your actions. YOU betrayed your family by acting on your own spiteful anger." Tamil ended by leaning back slightly and used his free hand to unsheath another dagger and raising it. "And to think I felt sorry for you."

As Tamil lowered the dagger's point toward Debbreh's face, Debbreh's eyes widened briefly before jerking her right wrist. Her right hand was aimed toward Tamil's abdomen, but her aim missed and barely sliced along his left side. As Tamil shouted painfully, Debbreh used her left hand to grab his wrist that held the dagger and stopped it from lowering further.

Tamil grit his teeth and glared down toward Debbreh. But instead of fighting against her hold, the panther quickly released his hold on her neck and quickly scratched his claws across the side of her face.

Debbreh yelped loudly and forced herself to roll over on top of him. But instead of pinning Tamil to the ground, she continued to roll off of him and quickly stood herself up. Before Tamil had the chance to move or stand as well, Debbreh bent down and gripped her hands into his robe again like she did before she threw him into the building beforehand. "How DARE you judge me when you have no idea what you're talking about!" She shouted before lifting him from the ground again. "You have no idea who you're dealing with!" She continued and threw him into the opposite direction of the building and into the road.

Tamil harshly landed on his side and slid across the dirt road a few yards away where Debbreh threw him. Dirt and dust had kicked and flew all around Tamil as he groaned. Why does she have to keep throwing him around?!

Debbreh's teeth grit hatefully as she panted heavily. He was wrong. That panther is wrong! He doesn't know her, how can he judge her for what she's done?! She had every right to hate Antonis and now Tamil in front of her. If he's trying to kill her, why does he speak to her as if he's trying to make her feel bad? Or better yet... As if he's trying to make her admit something she was unwilling to admit to ...herself. The cat growled sharply and shook her head.

Tamil gave another groan as he slowly stood himself up, now covered in the dust from the road. His back faced her now, he knew it was a bad move on his part. But something told him she wouldn't attack him from behind. It didn't matter anyway, whatever honor or respect she once had was gone. Funny, with her strength... she would have been a good ally to fight with. Before Tamil made any further thought, he grabbed another dagger from his belt and swiftly spun around to throw the dagger at Debbreh.

Debbreh's eyes widened suddenly and quickly raised her hand and bent a knee forward as if to brace herself. Before the dagger made impact, the cat's eyes brightened slightly as she concentrated on stopping the dagger. The effort, as a whole, knocked her hood back behind her and revealed her burgandy colored hair along with the rest of her face. She sneered as the dagger stopped inches before her hand and held it there.

Tamil froze as he watched the dagger stop in place. "...How... How are you doing this?" He asked, his features scrunching frustratedly. "Are you using magic to do this?!"

The female snarled. "No..." she spitefully said before raising her gaze from the dagger to Tamil. "I was born this way." She finished and hardened her glare. Her eyes soon narrowed before she moved the dagger with her mind to face its point toward Tamil. After seeing Tamil's ears fold back in panic, She threw the dagger back toward Tamil.

Tamil's eyes widened as the dagger was thrown back at him. Acting quickly, Tamil reached over his right shoulder and unsheathed his short sword just in time to swing it toward the incoming dagger. The blades clanged loudly, but Tamil managed to swat the dagger away from himself.

Debbreh's features tightened in rage before running forward toward Tamil; jerking her wrists to unsheath both wristblades. Seeing Tamil shift to another fighting stance, she growled loudly and charged forward. When she approached Tamil, Debbreh swiftly attacked Tamil with her wristblades; swinging and forcing each forward to try to stab him.

Tamil met each of Debbreh's attacks with a clang of his short sword, defending himself from her wristblades. A frustrated, but strained look appeared on his face as she continued to fight against him. Each strike she made was more aggressive and faster than the last. He knew if this kept up he wouldn't last very long. Not only was she stronger and faster, which was admirable to him, but he had so been inflicted with a painful wound at his side from Debbreh's blade.

"You dont know what I have been through." Debbreh snapped as she continued to fight Tamil. "I have been through countless trials and prejudices even before Antonis ruined my life further. I dont need you to barge in here and challenge me as if I am nothing!"

Tamil's features strained as Debbreh's attacks made him step back, but Debbreh continued her attack. "You aren't nothing,... " he groaned as Debbreh's wristblade slipped across his sword, nearly slicing his hand. "I'm only defending myself and my general, who YOU betrayed by allowing him to be taken by our enemies..."

Debbreh continued her attack. "He took everything away from me...!"

Tamil's teeth grit as he twisted his blade and swung one of Debbreh's arms away. "You did it to yourself!" he shouted before knocking her arm away again and shifted himself to allow her other arm to miss him.

Debbreh gave another angered yell as she tried to stab her wristblade toward Tamil, but she missed as Tamil quickly shifted his entire body. But instead of moving her arm back, she hesitated as she tried to find an argument against Tamil.

Tamil used this hesitation to drop his sword and quickly grabbed both of Debbreh's wrists. Using his movements for momentum, the panther swung Debbreh around and slammed her back against the building behind himself; only tightening his grip around her wrists.

After her back hit the wall, Debbreh's teeth grit as she panted heavily. Her hair had messily fallen over her shoulders as her bangs loosely hung over her brow. She wanted to fight back against him. But as he tightly held her wrists and kept her against the wall, something inside her kept her from fighting anymore. She couldn't defend her pride anymore, her past actions. Tamil was right to say she acted against Antonis out of own selfishness, but she had felt it was the only thing she could defend. She had nothing else.

Tamil's breaths were heavy as well. He tried to hide it, but he felt more exhausted than Debbreh appeared to be. He thought it was the wound at his side and the scratches to his face, but Debbreh attacked him almost too much. She was so defensive of her own actions, but no matter how he looked it it he still felt bad for her. Not for her actions, but for who she was and how she may have felt.

Debbreh continued to pant heavily as she looked away, her face exhausted and sorrowful. "Whatever you're going to do, do it now... You won. But if you do nothing, I will fight you again." She finished and looked back to the panther holding her against the wall.

Tamil's brow lowered and ears folded back as he watched her turn away and listened to her speak. His breaths were still heavy, but he began slowing his breath quite a bit as everything began to settle. As he looked at her, he first noticed the scratches along her cheek that he had made as they were fighting. But as she finished and looked back towards him, he couldn't help but look beyond the scratches and at 'her'. He looked beyond her red eyes and focused only on her face. She was beautiful, he didn't notice until now. The way her hair flowed around her face and brightened the beauty of her eyes, even the fur around her face looked smooth and delicate. It was as if their entire fight was to remove whatever mask she wore to hide herself and show him what she really was.

Tamil took a few more heavy breaths before he released both of her wrists. He then quickly wrapped them carefully around the back of her head and neck to pull her toward himself and pressed his lips against hers to kiss her.

Debbreh's eyes widened as Tamil pulled her closer to him and pressed his lips against hers. Both ears folded back as she began to panic and tried to pull herself away from him the panther. Feeling Tamil had no intention to pull away, Debbreh's brow lowered irritatedly and aggressively pushed Tamil away. "What the hell do you think you're doing?! Who do you think you are?!"

Tamil barely stumbled back, but managed to remained standing; innocently looking at Debbreh with ears perked and eyebrows risen. "..I'm sorry...I.. Just.."

Debbreh sneered and clenched her fist before forcing it forward to punch Tamil straight in the face. She made sure to hit him hard enough to send him to the ground and kept glaring down towards him. "Do you think this is some kind of joke? You cant just mess with my emotions like this." She turned away from him and paced back and forth. "You fight me.. and tell me you're going to KILL me. Then! When you have the chance, you kiss me?!"

Tamil groaned painfully as he slowly pushed himself off the ground and came to a strained stand. He knew she could have punched him harder, but geez... The panther rubbed his face. His eyes winced as he saw her. He probably shouldn't have kissed her, but he didn't regret doing it. "I feel differently now."

Debbreh suddenly turned toward him with a shocked expression. "You feel diff.." she grumbled to herself as she briefly looked away from him. "You feel differently now?!" She raised her fists and tightened next to her face frustratedly. "I could have killed you! I still CAN kill you!"

Tamil watched Debbreh's rant without arguement. She had every right to act this way, he shouldn't expect anything more. His eyebrows raised further as he watched her; tilting his head slightly.

Debbreh frustratedly glared at Tamil, irritated that he would only watch her as she ranted. Her eyes narrowed as she watched him. ...raising his brow and tiltiing his head. A short moment passed before she caught her breath and her features relaxed a bit. "Ahh... screw it!" She said before running toward Tamil and jumping onto him; wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. Before Tamil could react, Debbreh quickly moved her head forward and kissed him.
