PostSubject: Revision of Thought   Fri May 08, 2009 12:25 am

The heavy rain loudly pounded against the old roof of the cabin, the constant taps and splatters echoing without any sign of stopping. The wind blew against the wooden walls, which creaked in complaint.

Within the cabin, little light from outside revealed the two occupants inside. Voltrick, who was still laying on his back, kept a heavy gaze toward the ceiling. Steady breaths were taken as he listened to the pounding rain above him.

He couldn't sleep the entire time they rested, not only from his nightmares, but from the restless thoughts which ran through his mind. Thoughts about his tortures, about Aidan and Fyren, and thoughts about himself as well.

Aidan was asleep and curled tightly against him. It didn't take him long to fall asleep and, from what Voltrick could tell, hasn't awaken at all since. Exhausted from everything he's been through... and everything he just did. Aidan... the most unlikely person killed the most dangerous, most vile person alive. Well, used to be...

Voltrick still couldn't entirely believe Fyren was defeated, let alone dead. Fyren had tormented Voltrick his entire life. And every time Voltrick tried to fight him, he couldn't even make the slightest bit of difference. Not with all of his strength and the fierceness of the beast within him could he have had a chance. But now, after everything that has happened, Voltrick could finally say its over.

Both of Voltrick's ears folded back with a frustrated brow. ...But was it really over? It may have been with Fyren, but there will always be someone else. Someone who was hurt or offended, or even had their loved one murdered because of Voltrick. He was recognized as an uncontrollable monster and he'll live with that fact as long as he keeps portraying himself as one.

What made him a monster? The beast within him was the major blame for it, but he was the one who controlled it. He can choose to transform into it and tear apart anyone in his way. And he choose to allow it to control him. Even after Voltrick came back to the others, he still allowed himself to be consumed by his anger, his pride, and his hatred to rule everything he did. All it did was brought him and those around him more grief and pain.

The only times where he wasn't troubled by his own problems was when he was with Aidan. Aidan has always been there for him and helped him become a better person.

Voltrick wanted to be that better person; he didn't want to be angry all the time or feared by everyone else. But Voltrick wouldn't change. He wouldn't fight against his friends when he served the ministry, but he still resented everyone who feared him. His own pride was to blame, feeling any change would be pointless. ...They would still hate and fear him, there was no point in showing any kindness to them

Voltrick's ears sunk as his throat made a dry swallow. Everyone only hated and feared him because of how he was and how he refused to change. He made himself into this monster because he chooses to live as one. And that choice only made it worse for those around him. ...Especially Aidan.

The tiger’s chin lowered to allow his eye to see Aidan sleeping next to him. He never wanted Aidan to go through all of this. He only wanted to protect him and to end his suffering. And Voltrick was foolish enough in his pride to believe he was strong enough to end it, to stop Fyren and stop Aidan and his own suffering.

A frustrated brow lowered as he continued to see Aidan. Voltrick couldn’t stop Fyren, he never could. Even with all his strength, he would never be strong enough to even get close. But Aidan did. Aidan, being so young and weakened by his beatings, was able to defeat Voltrick’s greatest enemy… and the only one who ever could.

Not only by that power, but because of his need to protect someone he cared about. Voltrick’s head rested back again to look up toward the ceiling again. Voltrick thought he went after Fyren to protect those he loved, but he aimed more for revenge and relied too much upon his own brute strength and rage. It was never enough then, it wasn’t now. Aidan didn’t have any of that, he didn’t need it. He went after Fyren with his own strength with the sole need to protect Voltrick.

That type of strength can’t be found within vengeance or rage, or by some monster that cant control his own pride.

None of this would have happened if Voltrick had changed. If he had looked at things differently and didn’t place anger before a good choice Aidan wouldn’t be so hurt and Voltrick wouldn’t have been tortured. …Even before.

If that’s all it took, change, why wouldn’t Voltrick fight to be a better person? Why hasn’t he put his pride and anger aside to find that strength he could never grasp? …Fear of failure, fear of change or disappointment. From a different prospective, it was humorous… Voltrick wanted to be a better person and be stronger, but he was too afraid to change.

Too afraid… Voltrick looked down to Aidan again. …But even someone like Aidan, who was weaker and younger than himself, was brave enough to fight everything to become stronger. He even fought to make Voltrick a better person.

Voltrick turned his head up toward the ceiling again before closing his eye. Voltrick needed to change, he needed to be a better person and prove to everyone else he could be. …Because anger and spite doesn’t solve anything. It’s only made him worse.

PostSubject: Re: Revision of Thought   Fri May 08, 2009 7:33 am

--

It was late morning and the storm had passed on, the skies replaced with light gray clouds with few beams of sunlight shining through, a faint mist in the air and the smell of damp trees. The creek outside ran its course unhindered, the light sounds of the passing water the only noise surrounding the cabin.

Inside, Aidan's nose breathed in the smell of wood and the musky hay as he came further out of his deep sleep. He felt his body nearly surrounded by a soft warmth, his face pressed against it. Still within his dreams, Aidan smiled gently, stretching out a hand, arbitrarily rubbing against Voltrick's lower chest before it settled on top of him. The hand tightened its hold, hugging Voltrick closer as Aidan nuzzled the side of his face against him.

After, Aidan remained still as his sleep continued, pressed against Voltrick. Soon his tail lurched up for a second before hitting back down against the hay, almost playfully before Aidan's whiskers twitched.

Voltrick's heavy, exhausted gaze turned toward the cat with a risen brow as he felt Aidan move. His brow rose further when Aidan began to make himself more comfortable.

He didn't exactly know what to do, Voltrick hadn't exactly experienced anything like this in years. Long times in a dungeon has its effects. For a short time, he only watched wordlessly. He wasn't sure if he should even move, Aidan seemed so comfortable there... And it was awkward in the first place.

After giving Aidan some time to enjoy his comfort, Voltrick's gaze turned toward the morning lit window with a squinted gaze. He didn't want to move him, but it was morning. Someone may be looking for him, enough time has been given for the soldiers to find Fyren... And he was honestly worried about Aidan's and his own conditions. Aidan may be asleep comfortably, but none of their wounds have been taken care of or even bandaged. His own still gave him increasing discomfort.

Finally gaining the courage to move, Voltrick lifted a shakey hand and lightly placed it onto Aidan's back; rubbing it comfortingly. "Aidan?" He said in his rumbled tone. "Aidan.. Its morning."

Feeling the warm area shift, Aidan's tail twitched across the floor irritably as his brows furrowed gently until a hand was rubbed against his back. His ear flickered quickly at the sound of his name. Feeling the small strokes, Aidan's paws stretched over Voltrick's stomach, his body resolving that his cushion wasn't going anywhere. A small, content sigh was released as his tail twitched gently behind him in leisure. Very soon a deep, soft rumble was heard in the back of Aidan's throat, purring as his comfort returned and his dreams taking a lighter turn.

Voltrick's hand retracted lightly with his eye widening slightly as he felt and heard soft rumbling purr. At first, he couldn't tell what was going on and obviously didn't know how to react to it. He hadn't heard any kind of purr in... years. It was strange to admit that to himself. ...He didn't even recall himself ever purring. Maybe as a child, but he couldn't remember.

Relaxing a bit, Voltrick's hand returned to Aidan's back comfortingly and rested his head back. Another short moment passed before he shifted his hand up to lightly rub the back of Aidan's head, hoping it would wake him up without greatly disturbing his peaceful comfort.

"Aidan..." He rose his head lightly. "We need to get going." The tiger attempted to sit up, but tensed up as the pain in his abdomen suddenly made itself known. His features winced, hoping Aidan wasn't riled by it. "Come on, its time to wake up."

The voice and the small shifting forced Aidan to slit his eyes open, blinking hard to the sudden light. When he heard his name again, Aidan rose his gaze, finding himself nuzzled extremely close to Voltrick, even having his hand over the tiger. And what was that feeling in his throat? Aidan's face took on a confused expression as he felt the subtle vibrations before his eyes widened, finding that he had been purring.

Aidan rose himself quickly with a maddened blush, turning away from Voltrick slightly as he coughed lightly, faking as he did it to get rid of the purr. It was terribly hard for him to stop otherwise. But purring! What a girlish thing to do...even childish! Was he doing it the whole night? But how he slept...did it make Voltrick uncomfortable?

Soon he felt his shoulders ache unbearably, wincing as he hunched as he sat, later realizing the rest of his body was sore. Maybe resting so well made his body catch up to how beaten it was.

A small, irritated groan released to the embarrassing moment and the hurt all over his body, lowering his head between his shoulders and shaking it lightly. He still felt groggy over waking, feeling as though he could easily sleep for a few more hours.

"Ugh..." he grunted, later straightening his back as a hand moved to rub his hair back with closed eyes. "...How long was I asleep?"

"All night..." He said as he attempted to move. With winced features and a groan, he continued. "And all morning." He groaned again as he tried to sit up, the movement making the pain burn.

A heavy gaze turned toward the door of the cabin. "At least the rain stopped." he commented before spurt of coughs quickly erupted.

Aidan looked up to the window, a hand on his neck as he examined the outside. Voltrick was right. The downpour last night had stopped, a mist in the air. At least it was warmer and no sleeting rain in his face if he were to go outside.

He slowly rose himself, holding back aching groans with a hard frown. He wondered how many kicks he took to make him feel this bad. It didn't feel like his ribs were broken, but it was unwise to go unchecked. Aidan lowered his gaze, examining his figure. His eyes squinted immediately at his condition, blood still staining his fur and parts of his slacks, and his ribs were showing. Brows lowered in embarrassment as Aidan began to walk towards the door, using his arms to hide his thin frame.

"I'll be at the water..." he said to Voltrick, keeping his gaze away, wanting to ignore any seen expression on Voltrick's features.

Closing the door carefully behind himself, Aidan finally looked around, finding the only sounds in the area was the water of the creek passing by. With a thoughtful look, Aidan made his way to the water, stepping carefully at the incline on unstable legs. Reaching the bank, Aidan found a large rock that looked over the water, finding that it could easily hide him from view from the cabin. Tucking himself behind it, Aidan knelt down at the water, leaning to place his hands in. Rubbing them together in washing, red plumes of liquid came off his fur, floating idly in the water before dispersing.

Aidan frowned in thought. His fur must have been coated in blood. He thought the rain has washed his hands of all of it by now. Looking at it now more carefully, his tan colored fur looked darker from all the dirt and blood from the dungeon. He paused before glancing back towards the cabin, then around himself for any signs of life before he unfastened his slacks, taking them off and placing them on a nearby rock.

Undressed, Aidan stepped into the creek, shivering at the sudden chill of the water. It reached to his waist, taking a moment to stand and get used to the cold before he lowered himself even further. Taking a minute for his body to adjust to the water temperature, Aidan soon began to wash himself, lightly splashing the water as he did so.

It was amazing...He thought, how in nearly two days he came to the ministry, and in that time, got Voltrick out and killed Fyren. It didn't seem real, not the way he came to Fyren's study, the soldiers falling on each side of him as he walked like some dream. It had been so quiet up to that point, and even killing Fyren had, in reality, been done quickly. But every moment felt like hours to him, even thinking back on Fyren's words, they came out slow and deliberate.

Aidan cupped water into his hands before splashing the water against his face, rubbing it before repeating it again, remembering the way Fyren's blood had poured over his face. The ax splitting Fyren's neck...but all Aidan could see were those purple eyes.

And...even the cruel, gruesome way Aidan sat on top of Fyren, each chop of the ax to his body, feeling the tremors up his arms didn't seem real. As though it were all in his fantasy. But maybe that was what Aidan had thought about after killing Fyren as he looked around the study room. He needed proof. Maybe that was why...

A sudden thought came to Aidan as he straightened himself with tense shoulders. The bag! It was too late to go back inside for it. It would seem suspicious to Voltrick. Maybe he wouldn't notice it. Aidan could only hope, otherwise it would be terribly difficult to explain. Aidan frowned, pushing the concern away forcefully as he continued to bathe himself.

Speaking of Voltrick, what was going to happen between them? After confessing to him and seeing how Voltrick really felt...neither of them could think of the other the same again. Thinking about it now, it made Aidan terribly guilty. How could he ruin the perfect balance they've had up until now? What was Voltrick going to do now that he wasn't caged. He could have well just got up and left after Aidan said those things.

But...it felt, now, that if he hadn't admitted how much he loved Voltrick, he could never have had the strength or the drive to get through those halls of soldiers and finally to kill Fyren. In that dungeon, that epiphany, that moment where he felt so much hate for the one who was hurting Voltrick, that surge of anger that made his body quake...he needed to end the suffering for Voltrick's sake. He didn't want him to die. He couldn't live with himself knowing Voltrick would have died in a place like that...by someone so heartless and driven by revenge. Aidan may feel guilty for his love...but it felt necessary.

Necessary...Now that sounded as if he didn't have a choice. But he's never felt this way for another man. He wasn't...he didn't think he was that way...He always had fancied girls in the past. And why Voltrick? Aidan knew that was a stupid question to ask himself, but others would wonder the same. Maybe Voltrick himself. Being a crazed, brainwashed beast for so long and wrecking homes in the past and all that. But love was fickle like that, wasn't it?

A hand gingerly reached behind himself, fingers touching the brand mark at the small of his back. To the pressure, Aidan forced out a sigh with knit brows, feeling the tenderness of the wound even at the slightest touch, moving his hand away. And taking all those beatings for Voltrick had to say something. That he wasn't going to lie whatever he admits to do.

Aidan stood, the water reaching his waist as he was finished cleaning the dirt and blood from his fur, now taking time to look down at himself through the water. He had been hurt badly, wasn't he? Those soldiers were relentless. His fingers moved to grasp his neck gently before running them down. What was worse was the fear and the harassment's. Aidan's hand pressed against his chest, feeling the large bruises hidden under the fur before his fingers touched along his ribs, squinting his eyes in light pain as he felt the welts between the bones. It was sore, and he knew the water was helping to numb the actual feeling of it. His fingers moved to the center of his stomach, feeling the large bruise covering it nearly entirely.

He stood still, his hand still pressed to his stomach as dim eyes looked at himself, seeing only parts of his beaten body above and below the water.

PostSubject: Re: Revision of Thought   Mon May 11, 2009 7:14 am

Voltrick only gave a silent glance as Aidan left the cabin. His heavy gaze settled upon the cabin door after it shut through pale features.

He felt so exhausted. The tiger hadn’t actually slept since he left Ceres. The tortures and beatings didn't help, leaving his entire body pained endlessly. And that potion... Basically destroying Voltrick's entire body and taking away his healing.

A quiet groan escaped as he sat himself up fully, limply leaning over a raised knee. He finally felt numb to the constant pain, but every movement and breath was a sharp reminder of the wounds that never healed. Not the way they used to.

A weak, heavy breath was taken before he raised a shaky hand toward himself. His wrist still had the ring from the shackles that hung him from the ceiling. There were long cuts where the shackles had cut along his wrist from hanging and struggling against them so long. It also felt stiff to try and move and twist it.

That potion really did take away his healing, Voltrick thought as he examined the open cuts along his wrists. Ever since he got this curse, he never needed to worry about an injury. Even during his constant torture sessions, there was still that hint of assurance that his curse would heal everything and he'd be okay. He could charge into a battle and have a sword imbedded into his chest and not worry he'll die from it. He'd feel the pain, but he nearly forgotten what it was like to have that fear of dying or the torment of constant pain from an unhealed wound.

Voltrick's brow lowered as he closed his hand to a loose fist; shifting his gaze toward the front of the cabin. Everything has changed for him now. His healing was gone... Voltrick's features winced painfully. ...His wounds weren't healing nor his body gaining its strength.

He felt completely helpless, he could barely even sit up without a rush of pain overwhelming him. A short moment passed before he warily laid back down onto the hay with a louder groan.

At least Aidan was well enough to move around. Voltrick wouldn't have been able to get out if it weren’t for him, even if he was still hurt. Voltrick never thought he’d see the day when he was weaker than anybody else, or even relying on anyone else just to move.

He couldn’t even change into his beast when Aidan was taken out of his cell. The pain he felt, like his entire body was about to be ripped and broken apart. If he couldn’t change then… did that mean he wouldn’t be able to change again now that his healing has been taken away?

In away, it could be looked at as a good thing. But ever since he learned to control that beast, its been his only way of defending himself or protecting anyone. Voltrick almost felt even more defenseless without it, as much as he didn’t want to admit it. That beast was apart of the blame for the monster he became, unable to control his own anger or rage because of it, but without it… Would he even be able to defend himself?

A heavy breath escaped as he tried to relax himself into the hay. …It may not even matter to even worry… Since he isn’t healing, he may not even live long enough to see all this through.

Aidan leaned, pressing his back against the bank of the water, reaching his shoulders as he sat.

What were they going to do? Voltrick couldn't even move without surges of pain and his wounds needed to be looked after. They had no food or money, and Aidan didn't know which way was what. He didn't even know if there was a town nearby. Everything had been a shot in the dark, and it seemed that it was going to continue that way.

A frustrated brow lowered as Aidan shut his eyes, splashing water onto his face, feeling the coolness. He wanted to forget it all, let it slip his mind and give him peace if only for a few moments. This helpless feeling, that nothing was going right that stung his stomach and stayed. He hated that sensation.

Aidan took a deep breath before lowering himself underwater, shutting his eyes as everything became silent. The darkness behind closed eyes and the strange noises of the water allowed his mind to numb in silence before he began seeing Voltrick lying on the hay in pain where he left him.

He rose above the surface, catching his breath and rubbing water from his face while his ears lowered in irritation. He couldn't stop thinking about Voltrick! And that only led to their problems of what they were going to do!

Leaned back against the bank again, Aidan shut his eyes, leaning his head back against the sand, nose pointed to the sky as he concentrated. Maybe if he just focused on feeling...

His hand pressed against his face, feeling his features with his fingers until his tightened brows calmed. He couldn't feel the chill of the creek water anymore, his body used to it now. Instead, it felt warm. The hand moved to his chest, feeling the pressure of himself breathing. And that gave him a strange feeling of relief. He was alive, even after everything that had happened and in some cases, had narrowly escaped death, he was here now. He could feel the tenderness of his bruises, but he was well enough to move at least. That was worth something.

Soon his hand moved even lower until he grabbed himself, causing him to twitch with a little sigh. That was something he could definitely feel. Maybe he'd feel better if he...but ignoring his problems wouldn't be-- Aidan shut his eyes tighter, pushing any conceivable thought to the back of his head. He didn't want to think, not for the next few minutes.

Aidan pressed his head against the sand with a sigh before his eyes gently opened. Looking directly over him was a female cat in her early thirties staring back down at him as though she were in a trance, lying on top of the large rock Aidan hid himself beneath, only her head and hands seen as she hovered over. Any semblance of 'blankness' he wanted was granted to him as he felt his entire body stiffen, staring up at his voyeur with...he didn't even know what kind of expression he could be wearing.

They stared at each other like that for a long time before the woman's mouth twitched in an embarrassed smile.

"I...er...don't suppose you'd like to continue, would you?" she tried.

Aidan couldn't feel his face, only the heat of his blush as he quickly scrambled into a stand, turning until he faced the woman, seeing her now lying on the rock in leisure.

"Ho-How long were you there!?" he shouted, pointing at the rock.

The woman glanced away innocently, propping her head with a hand. "Well I lost count after the first few minutes..."

"Wh--Wha--" Aidan tried forming the words, not only through his embarrassment for the position he was caught in, but how there could be this woman anywhere near here.

"Don't look at me like that! It's your own fault you know!" The female cat argued, pressing her torso up from the rock, causing Aidan's ears to fall back, "How often does a handsome boy bathe in a creek these days? Let alone be doing that to himself!" Aidan's face heated, "Practically a woman's dream, don't you think? So excuse me if I was spying on you and trying to catch a good look!"

The woman rolled over onto her back, crossing her arms over her chest as though she were upset, either of being caught or that Aidan had stopped...what he was doing. Standing waist deep in the water, Aidan felt a chill run down his spine in the awkward silence that settled over the both of them, finding himself too dumbfounded to try and say anything.

What the hell was he supposed to do?

Aidan glanced towards the rock near the bank, seeing his slacks lying there. Before he could move towards them, the woman must have gotten his idea, coming off the rock fluidly before tiptoeing to the bank. Seeing her move towards his clothing, Aidan felt a sudden panic, rushing through the heavy water to race her to it. With a little laugh, she plucked it off the rock before Aidan could grab hold of it with a fist, glaring up at her as she laughed, stepping away.

"Don't tease me!" Aidan growled, pressing an arm against the bank, lifting himself out of the water only halfway to get closer, but kept himself in place to save him further embarrassment.

"Oh don't be a poor sport! It's all for good fun." the woman smiled.

"No it's not! Give them back!" Aidan whined, despite himself.

"Well since you're staying put there, I'm going to see what you've done to my storage house!" she said, placing the pants over her shoulder before turning, walking towards the shelter.

Aidan's fur bristled in fear. Voltrick was still in there! What if she saw him?! Would she warn people of a half dead tiger lying in her storage house?! He couldn't risk it!

"Wh-Wait!" he tried before his ears flattened, gritting his teeth in difficult resolve before he lifted himself out of the water.

Voltrick eyelid slowly lowered as he tried to rest. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep, but closing his eye may help to relax. When his eye finally lowered, exhaustion threatening him to finally sleep, a strange scent faintly reached his nose.

It wasn't anything familiar, a sensation that always tensed him, but it didn't carry any scents from the ministry compound. Voltrick's eye opened with a lowered brow. Any unrecognized scent in this area wasn't a good sign.

Voltrick painfully rolled onto his side and onto his elbow. He wanted to know who this stranger was. The scent was strong enough to know the person was close. Close enough to find either Aidan outside or know someone was in the cabin. He couldn't risk Aidan being hurt again, not by some random stranger.

Before the tiger could move further, a female's voice halted him. Both ears folded back frustratedly before turning his head toward the window; following the sound of the voice.

"What? Have you got something to hide?" the woman called behind herself after Aidan's shout, making it to the door of her shelter and parting the door. Who she saw inside caused her eyes to widen in surprise.

On the stack of hay, a severely wounded man was lying on his side, propped up as though he were trying to raise himself with a small glower on his features. Just the mere sight of him struck an intimidating air. It was until she felt the pants grabbed from her shoulders did she come out of her stare, turning to face an angered Aidan glaring up at her while putting his clothes on.

"You crazy lady...I ought to--" Aidan grumbled as he came nearer, blocking her exit.

"Oh! Is this the part where you're going to threaten me? Hit me around a bit?"

"Wh-What?!" Aidan's features took a turn to shock, lifting his hands, "Of course not!"

"Well then explain what he's doing there like he came straight from some hell hole!" the woman demanded, pointing back at Voltrick while a scowled look was set on Aidan.

In any case, we might have well been to that place... Aidan thought grimly as he glanced at Voltrick with a pleading look, not knowing what to do with this woman.

Voltrick quickly arched a brow as the female began an awkward argument with Aidan blocking her exit. She obviously wasn't someone who was by the ministry, but her tone suggested this cabin may belong to her. Either way, he felt increasingly uncomfortable being spoken about right in front of him.

"We needed shelter from the storm last night." Voltrick interrupted in his low, rumbling tone. "We dont need anymore trouble, ...Miss?" He asked with a risen brow, trying to be as polite as possible. Although, trying to be polite to someone pointing at him like a dead animal on the floor didn't make things easy.

The woman turned around to face Voltrick, putting her hands on her hips with an authoritative air.

"Mrs. Fern! And was that a threat?! I suppose it was! I have a good mind to report you two to the town. See how they'd handle you both for intruding on my property!"

Aidan tensed to that, panic filling him. This town was way too close to the Ministry. They must have several officers there easily! They couldn't go back. That wasn't an option.

He slammed his hands against both sides of the door frame, blocking Mrs. Fern's exit seriously now with a regretful frown. He didn't want to threaten this lady, but he couldn't risk her going through with her threat.

"Please don't! We're just here anonymously. No one needs to know! Besides, look at him. Does he look like a man who could do any harm?" Aidan tried, putting a little smile on for show.

Mrs. Fern rose a brow with thinned lips as she glanced at Aidan before looking back down to Voltrick in thought.

"...If he weren't so beaten up, I'd wager he could tear a man's arm off with the size of his muscles..."

Aidan blinked, stopping himself from denying it. Voltrick did rip Gordan's arm off...

"Er...Well he's a big...lovable, softy on the inside!" Aidan smiled much too broadly, still desperate to convince the woman otherwise.

"Hah! And I suppose you're a psychopath underneath that boyish charm!"

Were they that easy to read?

Aidan lowered his arms from the door frame, wincing after remembering the wounds on his shoulders. "Please, we just need a place to stay for a little." Aidan pleaded, clasping his hands together, "I know this looks strange, but we'll leave as soon as he gets well enough to walk."

Mrs. Fern narrowed her eyes as she listened to Aidan's plea, and after a moment, turned back around towards Voltrick. After examining him, the woman's ears lowered.

"Do you have anything to say?" she asked, a finger tapping her hip where it rested.

Voltrick felt like his heart skipped a beat when Aidan had described him as a big... lovable, softy... Both ears sunk down with widened eyes. Did Aidan seriously just describe him that way? To THIS lady of all people? Embarrassment could be a brief way of how he felt at the moment.

When the lady turned her attention back towards him with her question, Voltrick's ears rose slightly with a quirked brow. Is she really, honestly, interested in what he has to say? He's just a big lovable softy... with muscles that could tear an arm off.

"You have every right to not trust us." He said in his low tone before his features winced, briefly closing his eye shut painfully. "But if you intend to report us, at least give us the chance to explain ourselves. We've obviously been through hell and we needed a place to stay out of the rain." He gave a short groan before continuing. "If that's too much to ask then we'll be on our way."
