| Voltrick tried to take all this as Aidan's time to vent. After what he'd been through, Aidan needed it. But Aidan continued and grew angrier and angrier. Blaming Voltrick for bringing him. Yes, Voltrick brought him here. He blames and curses himself everytime he thinks about it. Words, alone, cannot express the regret he feels and the hatred toward himself for doing it.
"Stop it."
Aidan was using this reasoning to fuel the anger already inside him. Allowing it multiply and twist it; worsening the pain within him. Voltrick would rather this pain be directed towards him, but the way Aidan said it, the anger and twisted means, was like salt on the wound.
"Stop it." Voltrick said again while Aidan ranted. Not commanding it or saying it loudly. But Aidan continued.
Now, Aidan began arguing that he was fine with Murdoc and how he was treated better than now. This began pushing Voltrick's frustration to anger. He didn't want to hurt Aidan further or yell at him. But the cat was now just saying everything in his mind. A hundred, painful emotions mixed into one, splurting out words as they pop in his head.
"Yes, I brought you here!" Voltrick raised his voice, unable to keep quiet. "Do you think I wanted to or enjoyed it?! No. I was ordered to bring you back to Murdoc. To Murdoc, not to these Bastards. So don't you dare continue to blame me for what they are doing. I already blame myself for everything you've gone through and I would rather DIE than see you suffer another second here."
Voltrick forced his head to turn away, pulling the chains while doing so subconsciously. "I will never forgive myself for what I've done to you. The one person who hasn't called me monster... Blame me all you want, I deserve it. But I will never hear you say you 'enjoyed' it. Not even with Murdoc. Because if you do, that would mean you're turning into someone like me." |

| Aidan stared in shock after Voltrick's own retort while continuing to hold onto his clothes with balled fists. He would rather die? What did that mean? But something else was also bothering him.
"Why?" Aidan asked in the calmest of voices, lowering his head nearer, "Do you mean becoming a monster? Or maybe someone who's too scared to let anyone in?" The hands near Voltrick's nape begun inching up, fingers stretched out, almost crawling up Voltrick's neck. Finally, they came to lightly grip around it as Aidan's brow lowered.
"Do you want revenge, Voltrick? Because I do; so badly I could--" his grip tightened increasingly as his thumbs pressed on each side of Voltrick's adam's apple. The pupils of his eyes decreased in size madly.
Suddenly Aidan pulled away, his hands freeing themselves from Voltrick and in a few short seconds and had made his way a few feet away. His eyes became normal, staring in fright at Voltrick, if not at what he's just realized happen.
"V-Voltrick..." he whispered, biting his lip as he held his head with both hands, "I-I'm sorry. I just...I..."
What was he doing? Why couldn't he control his own actions? Maybe that was what Voltrick was talking about...
"...I could never...be like you." he said after a while, his tense body having calmed within that time, eyes staring to the floor in thought. "No one could be...intimidated by me. I'm a 'helpless kitten'" he spat at the last part, quoting Jonas from the previous hour or two. |

| Voltrick, at first, didn't want to answer Aidan's questions. He was already ashamed enough, why should he confirm anything Aidan asked? Becoming a monster, or someone who's too scared to let anyone in. It was true, but he never wanted to admit outloud.
Voltrick kept his gaze away from Aidan. The shame he felt, alone, was enough to stop him from looking towards Aidan, but what Aidan was saying just added to his frustration.
Then a hand was felt at his neck and tightened slowly at first, but right as Aidan continued speaking again, the pressure at his throat increased drastically and caused Voltrick to tense up. Aidan, as weak as he appeared, had an unusual amount of strength to be able to cut close a tight grip around Voltrick's throat and choke him. Voltrick still didn't want to hurt him, but he couldn't help himself from kicking and attempting to remove the hands at his throat. The pressure was not only preventing him from breathing, but the scaring around his throat was pinching; causing sharp pains to erupt where Murdoc had stabbed his neck.
The lack of air was his biggest concern as he choked and gasped for air... "Aid...dan.." ..But what concerned Voltrick soon after was the look Aidan gave. That look of malice and hatred. He honestly wanted to kill Voltrick that moment, he wanted his revenge and he was about to get it!
When Aidan had suddenly pulled away, Voltrick instantly hunched over and coughed violently. Little time was wasted before he moved away from Aidan and stood himself up toward the far corner of the cell, still coughing.
Even though the coughing continued for a bit longer, Voltrick heard every word Aidan said afterwards. Voltrick was about to speak, but coughed again. The scarring was much worse than it appeared to be. His throat was obviously scarred, but the pressure against the esophagus irritated the tissue there.
"You're obviously not helpless." Voltrick barely said, his voice more raspy than before. "You know you don't want to be like me. But every moment you spend here, I see more of it growing."
Voltrick stopped himself and dropped to the floor in the corner of the cell. His coughing had calmed down, but his breaths were burdened. Voltrick was now witnessing everything he endured before, with himself being tortured alone by Murdoc and other guards, with Aidan. Aidan was changing into something worse, like Voltrick. He's now seeing how he, himself, became what he is and he despises everything about it. Aidan was now an example of how it began... and Voltrick had to prevent that at all costs.
"Don't..." Voltrick sighed and looked away again. "Don't let this place turn you into someone like me. I know it hurts. Not only on the outside." he pointed at his temple lightly. "But on the inside as well. But you have to find a way to fight it off." He coughed lightly before continuing in a lower, still raspy, tone. "Don't become something you'll regret." |

| Aidan turned his head away, closing his eyes and leaned his back against the wall, arms hugging himself for warmth. He made sure his back faced Voltrick so he couldn't see Aidan's face, almost afraid of what his own expression would look like.
He didn't speak for a while, his eyes squinting shut, trying to sleep and escape this cell and this miserable place...but there was a growing fear gnawing at his mind. They'll come back. When they do, they'll hurt Voltrick and himself again until they can barely stand. Then maybe they'll take him out of the dungeon again...and...
Aidan's head tilted with heavy, blank eyes. Even if he does leave this place...what then? Antonis had sent him away leaving a scar in their relationship. He couldn't allow himself to go to Murdoc. He would be better off alone, away somewhere quiet and where no one could find him.
The daydreams of a quiet town of humble folks caused Aidan's eyes to lower, tipping his head against the wall in the beginnings of sleep. It was a painfully sweet dream as though all he knew were the damp stone walls that surrounded him and Voltrick. |

| Voltrick quietly adjusted himself to sit his back against the corner of the cell; tilting and leaning his head against the wall. The tiger's eyes closed only momentarily before they opened again. There's no way he could sleep now. He was just strangled. But the whole thing kept him wide awake. What Aidan was becoming, what he was, and how he reacted to people.
Comforting Aidan, was out of the question now. He was in terrible pain without a way to really know how to react to all that has happened to him. Not to mention, Aidan hated Voltrick. Or that's what Voltrick deeply assumed. Aidan hates everything Voltrick is, so there's no reason to think Aidan would want anything apart of him. But Voltrick still felt he needed to. Needing to, is completely different from knowing how to help.
Talking about the things now may not help anything. But what about changing the subject? If anything, Aidan will stay quiet and he wont talk about his anger or he'll think less on it.
It took a bit for Voltrick to think of what to say, but then something came to mind that Voltrick has been keeping to himself for quite sometime. "When you were with the others..." he chose not to say Antonis' name, for obvious reasons. "..Was Gordan there? .... Was he alright?" Voltrick kept his face toward the wall, refusing to look toward Aidan. |

| Aidan's eyes opened slightly, reflecting in his memory for Gordan's name after Voltrick had mentioned it. Brandon....Brandon was usually with Gordan.
"I guess he's fine. He was very quiet." Aidan answered shortly, lowering his eyelids heavily, as his voice was soft. Voltrick obviously wanted to keep talking but Aidan found it hard to keep awake after everything that's happened. He wondered momentarily what it must be like to sleep forever. The thought was very tempting, however, he felt badly for Voltrick.
Aidan's eyes opened a bit as he reflected. Voltrick was only trying to help him...and how did he respond? by almost choking him! Aidan hadn't thought that in that moment Voltrick (most likely) did something he rarely had a chance to do; comfort.
He looked back to Voltrick with a saddened expression, a pitiful gaze staring up to him. "I'm sorry I...reacted like that." he found the right word with difficulty, furrowing his brow gently. "I didn't mean for it." |

| Voltrick was somewhat calmed with the fact that Gordan was 'fine'. It didn't exactly help the feeling he had about Gordan and what happened, but that was something for later... Or to only think about at least. There's little chance he would get out of here, and who says he would even be able to get close to Gordan if he did get out? Or even, would Gordan want to be near him?
Voltrick pushed that thought away. Thinking about it disturbed him and he only mentioned Gordan for Aidan's sake. But Aidan was obviously not in the talking mood. He was angry, and obviously tired from his ordeal.
The both of them stayed quiet for some time. Voltrick kept facing the wall until he heard Aidan's voice from behind again. His apology caused Voltrick to slowly turn back toward aidan with a troubled look upon his face. Aidan was apologizing? He had every right to be angry.
In truth, Voltrick still didn't know how to react to it. Aidan was angry, blaming Voltrick and everyone else for his pain. which is rightfully his to say. But now he's apologizing for it. He wanted to respond with the right thing to say, but the uneasiness of the situation made him unable to answer... comfortingly. It was the fact that no one ever apologized for anything. It was Voltrick did something and he was punished for it, end of story.
Voltrick turned back halfway before responding; not fully looking at Aidan, but not fully looking away either. "You had every right to react that way. ...I probably would have felt been better if it was directed toward one of the guards..." Voltrick nearly regretted saying that last bit. It could have been taken as humor, but what happen shouldn't have happened at all. "But its overwith." Voltrick turned to face the wall again. "What happens to me, means little. My only concern is what happens to you." |

| Aidan's lips lowered into a frown, glancing away thoughtfully. "Even...if I have the right to do that, that would be selfish on my part. And--" Aidan brought his knees up, hugging them to his chest as he peered back to Voltrick, "--I don't want to be like that." |

| Voltrick looked back partially and responded with a sigh. "Like me, I know." A frustrated gaze turned back to the wall. He was a living example of what people should avoid becoming... Depressing, but maybe he should aim himself away as well. Maybe he'll feel better about himself.. as unrealistic as that is.
"If you wanted to sleep. I wont bother you anymore." Voltrick was becoming sensitive to the subject now. He was troubling himself and Aidan, even though Aidan should be resting after his ordeal. Voltrick may have even brought Aidan to choke him because of his 'comforting' actions. And now Aidan is feeling obligated to apologize for it. He's doing enough, he shouldn't do anything. |

| Uneasily, Aidan glanced to the dungeon doors after Voltrick implied sleep. As much as he wanted to, his mind became aware of possibilities that may happen if he did sleep. What if they came back within the next few hours? Not only that...but what would they do?
Aidan laughed a bit unsettled, quiet with an odd smile. "I'm a little scared to sleep right now." he admitted, rubbing his arm absently. "Do you...sometimes feel that way too?" |

| Voltrick took a deep breath through his nostrils. "Every time..." Voltrick said with the same raspy voice. "But I've gotten somewhat used to it, since it happens to me all of the time."
The thought of the guards coming down for their share of Voltrick torture time anytime they can was unsettling to him. The more he thought about it, brought back old spite and anger toward the guards... even Murdoc for starting the whole thing. But because of Murdoc and how he's treated Voltrick, He couldn't blame him directly. Apart of the punishment and forced obedience process. |

| Aidan sighed gently before he unsteadily rose from his seated position. He turned and took a few steps towards Voltrick, his legs beginning to feel like there were barely any bones inside. He didn't know whether it was because of what happened or his exhaustion. Aidan literally dropped himself to his knees close to Voltrick, and without looking at him, faced his back towards the tiger as he laid himself down on his side. He moved his arms near his head, one underneath for support and the other bent.
"It won't be as bad if we're near each other." Aidan suggested silently, almost in a whisper. He would have been embarrassed to even come near Voltrick just to have some human contact, let alone admit it, but his fear dwindled that mentality. |

| Voltrick turned back to Aidan as he heard him begin to stand and move towards him. Nothing was said as he fell, but he gave a worried gaze to it. It was odd for Voltrick. This is the closest Aidan had intentionally came close to him without any malicious intent. That may have happened once, but it still happened. But Aidan's actions forced a frustrated look upon Voltrick's features. He moved himself close to Voltrick and laid next to him. Even what Aidan said made Voltrick uneasy.
Voltrick remained silent, but looked away after a while. A more, protective look came upon him as he adjusted himself to sit directed toward the gate. Voltrick may have been unsure of what to say to Aidan or how to comfort, but Aidan laid down next to him out of fear of the others. Who knows, it may be Aidan's way of trusting Voltrick more. Relying upon him in a way. Maybe just sitting there, protecting him even though they were both captives in a dungeon, was comforting enough to Aidan from someone like Voltrick.
This gave Voltrick a reason to stay awake. |
