PostSubject: The Old Abandoned Barn   Thu Sep 04, 2008 7:09 am

Voltrick led Aidan the entire way out of town and towards the abandoned barn he had stayed at the other night. It was about a mile away from the outer most building of the town, well enough away from any public eyes.

Voltrick had remained silent the entire time, except for the time he offered his jacket to Aidan due to the cold. Cold weather didn't both Voltrick much, it was the snow storms that would really affect him.

The barn was old and weathered. Its paint had faded years ago and only left chipped wood panels. It appeared as if its use had been used up years ago, but it stood strong. At least it appeared that way.

Voltrick still remained silent as they entered the barn, even closing the barn door behind Aidan as he entered the barn after himself. But before he closed it completely, a wary gaze looked through the door's opening; still suspicious they were being followed.

Voltrick was right to keep a good eye around as Darcia followed them a few yards away, well hidden in the shadows of the trees and bushes. But his gaze followed Aidan the whole way, glaring as the cat had managed to escape him the last time, no thanks to that thing. He won't fail this time...he will kill the feline.

The two arrived to the barn, each stepping into it carefully, watching as Voltrick began to close the door. Darcia crept near the last part of the trees until the opening of the lawn for the barn. Lying low, the wolf kept patient as he began to think of ways to snatch his prey. But first, he'll have to wait until Voltrick leaves the front door.

----

Inside, Aidan looked around the dust filled barn, glancing up to the high beams that held the second level and the roof together. However old it was, it still had a comfortable feeling to it. And as Voltrick had said, it was warm. Aidan knelt down against a hay pile slowly until he looked over to Voltrick, who was still at the door.

"Did you see something?" he asked curiously, but not out of caution. He didn't think anyone had followed them...not from what he's noticed anyway.

Voltrick closed the door hesitantly; feeling as if he should continue to watch out the doorway. "There is a scent in the air I have smelt before. Whatever it is, I can still smell it here. Do you not recognize it?" Voltrick said as he looked back to Aidan, then to the door before examining the condition of th barn. It was in the same condition he left it, only last time it was a means of escape. Now may not be so different, or it was the perfect means to get caught.

It bothered Voltrick nonetheless.

Sitting against the hay, Aidan watched Voltrick with tired eyes, "I don't think my sense of smell could compare to yours, but I didn't smell anything." he answered truthfully, lifting a brow slightly with a small smile, "Want me to go out and check?"

Voltrick arched a brow and eyed Aidan. "Not exactly what I had in mind." Voltrick said as he watched Aidan. His gaze trailed up the door and around it. A sigh was exhaled befored long. "There's no way to lock or barricade the door." His brow lowered. "We'll just have to hope nothing decides to barge in." His head turned to Aidan again with a brow lifted. "Are you warm enough?"

Nodding, Aidan rustled the hay under him mindlessly, looking down to it, "Yes. It's warm like you said. Is this where you've been staying?"

----

Darcia saw the darkened figure still at the door. Was he interested in keeping watch the entire night? That may very well be the case. His tail twitched behind him, brushing a bit of dirt back and forth with it.

Voltrick arched an eyebrow. "Yes." Voltrick's scowl reappeared as he looked back to the door; placing a hand upon it. "Its comfortable for a temporary stay." Voltrick added before he looked back to Aidan. "But I'm not staying." Voltrick finished and looked to his right toward the other side of the barn. A few steps were taken in that direction and away from the door, only to see if there was something large he could barge the door with.

Darcia stood suddenly as Voltrick's figure began to shift, pressing his hind-feet against the ground in readiness. This was his chance. Just as Voltrick moved away from the door, Darcia bolted across the lawn of the barn, rushing in between the crack of the door.

Just as he ran inside with a harsh snarl, his eyes darted quickly to his left, seeing his target sitting there with a look of bewilderment. This seemed easier than he had thought. The wolf's teeth bore wide as he fell onto Aidan, who gave a cry of sudden pain, both falling back against the hay pile.

Voltrick's ear twitched back as he heard something moving outside. The crash in the door sent Voltrick around with widened eyes and a tense form. Darcia?!

After the wolf pounced on Aidan, Voltrick snarled and dashed forward; roaring out towards him. "Get away from him!!!" Within seconds Voltrick pounced upon the wolf and dug his claws around each side.

A louder snarl sounded as Voltrick's claws dug into him, releasing his teeth from Aidan as his upper form twisted around, lunging his head towards Voltrick to snap his jaws at him. With his size almost measurable with Voltrick's normal form, he found his attempt to hold him down almost humorous.

His strong feral form kept turning towards Voltrick as he continued to snap at him, Darcia's claws extended to scratch back at the tiger wildly.

On the hay, Aidan's body was still, most of his upper body covered by the straws, hints of blood seen around where his chest was.

-----

Antonis kept a fast pace as he looked around each side of him quickly with Murdoc just behind him, doing the same. No one knew where Aidan had gone to (after Murdoc spoke with him), added with a grunt. The wounds he suffered from Voltrick were healed now, and though he felt a little tired, he was in good health again.

He knew by the way both Murdoc and himself were yelling at each other earlier. They've seem to resolve on silence as the two of them wondered the town.

Murdoc wasn't very far from the same mindset as Antonis, keeping a small glower as he walked. Of course Antonis would blame him for Aidan's disappearance. Whenever Aidan yelled at him, everyone would blame the wolf instead. He was locked in a room, for cristsakes!

His thoughts stopped as Antonis halted, pointing his nose up to sniff the air.

"What is it?" Murdoc asked, lifting a brow at the dog.

"It's Voltrick." the General replied silently, tipping his head down as he stared ahead of him towards the woods.

Murdoc wanted to sigh. Of course...it had to be Voltrick.

Voltrick snarled and growled out as his chest and arms received numerous scratches. But his main concern was the snapping jaws, which Voltrick desperatly tried knocking away from his face and neck.

After a few close calls, and Voltrick's diminishing strength due to his normal form being drastically weaker than Darcia, Voltrick's growls quickly deepened as his frustrations and anger began to quickly grow. "I'LL TEAR YOU APART!!'' Voltrick roared out as green eyes faded to black and his strength increasing dramatically.

As Voltrick gained strength, so did his form rapidly change; always fighting off the constant snapping jaws from the mad wolf.

Darcia did not hinder his attacks even as Voltrick grew in size, giving him all the more reason to continue fighting. The wolf pressed back against the beast, saliva running down his maw in anticipation with wild eyes.

An arm managed to fall between Voltrick's arms, claws digging into his chest, as he returned the threat.

"Let's see how you fare this time, beast!!" Voltrick heard in his mind.

The deep scratch into Voltrick's chest forced a sharp, pained roar out from Voltrick, but it would not hinder his defense to keep the wolf at somewhat arm's length.

Although, he continued to recieve constant scratches and bites along his arms and chest, Voltrick continued to speedily changed into his beast. Once changed enough to have enough strength, Voltrick forced both arms up and against the wolf, wherever possible, to push him off of himself.

His attempt only resulted with a set of jaws clamping down on his right forearm. After a sharp growl, Voltrick forced himself to roll himself to his right; attempting to roll the wolf off or roll on top of him.

Darcia wrestled against Voltrick until he was pressed on top of the beast, holding his jaw firmly against the arm. Blood stained his maw as his eyes set on Voltrick's face. This was his chance.

Sharp canine's released the arm as his front leg pressed against Voltrick's shoulder, climbing up on the beast only to snap his jaw against Voltrick's lower nape. Voltrick's other arm caught him just before he could bite, but he maneuvered against it, this time he shot his head down, teeth parted until he finally took hold of both sides of the beast's throat in his teeth.

Jaw tightening, Darcia pressed against it.

-----

Antonis and Murdoc had reached the woods, following the scented trail from Voltrick, mixed along with Aidan's at this point. Suddenly Murdoc's ears pointed straight on his head, craning his head high as he paused with a complex expression on his features. Antonis turned, finding the wolf pausing.

"What's wrong?"

Slowly, Murdoc looked towards Antonis with a widened eye, "...There's another scent..." he said warily.

Irritated by the vagueness, Antonis turned a bit to face Murdoc, "What is it?"

"It's...Darcia."

Just as he heard the name, Antonis spun around, bolting into the forest with Murdoc struggling at first to follow. As he ran, Antonis's body began to change from once running on two legs until he fell onto all fours, his feral form complete. Seeing this, Murdoc followed suit, emitting a low growl as he matched his run with the general's.

Antonis was preparing for the worst.

Voltrick continued to struggle and fight against Darcia, but the wolf had the upperhand. Voltrick was helplessly pinned down. With all of his battles and fights with other enemies, he didn't have any real experience fighting anyone matching his own strength or more than his own. Other than their last battle, but that was sheer luck the wolf ran off.

Voltrick quickly became desperate as the wolf gained more of the advantage and clawed at him; continually biting his arm and snapping at his neck and face. Voltrick released a long, threatening roar until Darcia's jaws almost instantly wrapped around his throat. Voltrick's eyes widened in surprise and helplessly ended his roar in a high pitched whine.

Pain quickly shot into his neck as sharp teeth harshly embedded themselves into Voltrick's throat. The pressure quickly began blocking the air passage and forced Voltrick into a panic.

In his desperation, Voltrick continually swatted toward the wolf's head and neck. Scratching whenever he could as his long legs kicked under him.
